The Field 50 is a 14 Target event, shooting 4 arrows per target, using the Youth Stakes with a Max distance of 50 yds for all Divisions/Styles except Cubs. Cubs will continue using the Cub stakes and all will use Field Target Faces. This allows current field courses to be used “as-is” without any additional set-up.
Anyone can shoot the Field 50, New archers, or experienced archers alike.
Field 50 does not replace the TFAA 28 Target Field/Hunter SYWAT event and does not count towards a regular TFAA Field SYWAT for any purposes. This is its own separate event.
The Field 50 can be shot at the same time as a normal Field/Hunter SYWAT event or can have its own shoot pending Club desires/abilities.
If holding at same time as a normal 28 target SYWAT, we recommend grouping the Field 50 archers together in groups of 3-5 people.
During the initial year, the Field 50 will be shot on the Field Faces, not the Hunter Faces. If the range is set for Targets 1-14 to be Field Faces and 15-28 to be Hunter Faces, the Field 50 archer will shoot only targets 1-14 or vice versa.
If a Club only has a 14-target course, they can choose their set-up to be Field or Hunter face as usual, but the Field 50 option is only available when set with Field Faces for scoring consistency across the State. This will have to be planned and advertised accordingly at the Clubs discretion to hold a Field 50 or not on a given weekend.
Archers can sign up for either a Regular SYWAT or a Field 50.
Score Cards: Field 50 uses the same Score cards as normal, mark on top of card “Field 50”, then fill out the side of the score card that is using the Field face, be it 1-14 or 15-28. We will maintain separate scores on the TFAA Web site.
The Field 50 Event fee is $15 for Adults and $10 for Young Adult, Youth & Cubs.
Awards: At the end of the year, we will award a Field 50 Champion per Division/Style as long as a minimum of 3 separate event scores are posted by a minimum of 3 Archers per Division/Style.
The Field 50 will not have a State Championship during the first two years of the Trial.
